This is a new game that we started completely from scratch on stream on March 17th. The basic idea of Kitten Mayhem is that you’re a kitty wrecking your owner's home while they are out of town. Your goal is to break and destroy as much as possible while avoiding obstacles. Your kitten has a limited number of projectiles (balls of yarn) to throw and destroy obstacles and breakable objects. Your projectiles slowly regenerate over time.
We’ll do a more in-depth review of game mechanics in another post, similar to what I did for Run Hobo Run. I wanted to show how we’ve progress from our initial wireframes into a game getting closer to alpha testing, so let’s take a look!
Starting with basic wireframes and progressing to some alpha-testing ready elements, the gameplay and artwork has progressed very nicely.

We’ll be starting some basic alpha testing on May 7th and will progress into Beta testing after the game becomes more stable (hopefully around mid to late May). With the help and feedback from testers I’ll re-evaluate our design schedule, but I’m still aiming for an early June release.
I have high hopes for this game and will try to keep the blog updated at least twice a month to give a peek into how development is going.
